Without a doubt: the 80's. How can you deny a generation that gave us shoulder pads, sushi, Duran Duran, and Donna Mills?

If Martha Stewart can make a comeback then so can Paula Deen! We can't deep fry but one celebrity at a time! Besides, you're so right ... she seems real and that's why we adore her!
(By the way, I LOVE that you are a Pollyanna!)

You're so right Cathy! If soulless brands like Nutrisystem can use the personal experience of a loved celebrity to make some kind of claim toward an approach to better health, what more could witnessing a transformation in Paula Deen (THE BRAND) do to convert our society? We have a health care epidemic that is costing us all. She could choose to be a leader.

Thank you for calling for the good! I would love to see some examples of this type being used effectively. Much harder to find, I know, but it's a great thing to see the champions of the vilified fonts being showcased.

I often find that designers criticize, rather than critique, much too often. I applaud you for seeing beyond the "face" of the font.

Great insight as usual from one of the most accomplished type nerds I know (don't worry, I can call you that because I'm one too!)

Take care, Ryon!
