Riggs Partners Announces 2019 CreateAthon® Nonprofit Clients

COLUMBIA, SC (September 16, 2019) — Eight South Carolina nonprofit organizations will be the beneficiaries of pro bono marketing and communication services provided by Riggs Partners during its 22nd annual CreateAthon®. The 24-hour marketing marathon will begin Thursday, October 17 at 8 a.m. and conclude the morning of Friday, October 18.

Organizations selected as CreateAthon clients this year include:

“Each year, CreateAthon allows us to work hand-in-hand with people dedicated to making our communities stronger,” said Teresa Coles, president of Riggs Partners and co-founder of CreateAthon. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to help these groups make a difference and to develop communications strategies that move their work forward. Best of all, we love getting to know these changemakers and cheering for them as their organizations grow.”

CreateAthon has served many organizations benefitting children who have special needs, and 2019 is no exception. Greenwood Miracle League is a nonprofit organization that provides children with special needs and disabilities with the opportunity to play baseball. “To be selected as a CreateAthon partner organization to actively communicate our ‘PLAY BALL!’ call to action is both thrilling and heart-warming,” said Denise Lollis, Greenwood Miracle League board member. “Going beyond ‘build it and they will come,’ will enable us to provide baseball to children throughout the area and allow their families to cheer them on just like any other family during America’s pastime.”

Sun Solutions will again donate printing and production services for marketing materials developed for Riggs Partners’ CreateAthon clients. CreateAthon beneficiaries and Riggs Partners clients also come together each year to provide food, entertainment and special surprises to cheer the creative marketing teams on during the 24-hour marathon.

Riggs Partners founded CreateAthon in 1998 as an innovative way to provide pro bono marketing services to nonprofits in South Carolina. The program has achieved significant impact since its national expansion in 2002, attracting more than 100 agencies, universities, professional organizations and corporate marketing departments throughout the world as CreateAthon partners. In total, the program has served more than 1,500 nonprofit organizations with pro bono marketing projects valued at more than $25 million.
